As a Church of England school, the school mirrors the church’s vision for an education which promotes ‘life in all its fullness’ (John 10:10). Its core purpose is to educate the whole child; uniting excellence and academic rigour with spiritual, physical, intellectual, social and emotional development - enabling every child to flourish.
Swimbridge Church of England Primary School is inspired by the Noah’s Ark story, these values are interwoven with the school’s mission to "live life in all its fullness." Just as the Ark was a place of safety, growth, and transformation, the school environment becomes a space where students can thrive academically and spiritually. Each subject and activity, from RE lessons to science and art, becomes an opportunity to explore these values, whether it's building wisdom through problem-solving, fostering hope through perseverance, encouraging community through group work, maintaining dignity in all interactions, or showing love through acts of kindness.
Our school story is based on the Noah’s Ark story, with its themes of survival, hope, and the promise of a new beginning, offering a rich foundation for a school that values Wisdom, Hope, Community, Dignity, and Love. When integrated into the curriculum, the story can bring these values to life, guiding children in both their academic and personal growth.
The integration of these values into positive learning behaviors ensures that students not only achieve academic success but also grow into compassionate, responsible, and thoughtful individuals, ready to live life in all its fullness.
In the heart of the school is a special mural which was a collaborative art project between local artist Victoria Owen and the pupils of Swimbridge. The mural celebrated the Noah Ark Story and our school values. It reminds us all of the values Noah showed throughout his life and how we can apply that learning to our lives today.
