It is very difficult to put into words what ‘spirituality’ actually is because it is a very personal experience. It differs from person to person, and often spirituality changes within people during their lifetime. Spirituality is not the same as having a religion or faith; a person can be spiritual without having a particular faith.
At Swimbridge, we believe it is about a person’s relationship with themselves, their community, the world around them and beyond the world itself. This picture helps the children understand the 4 main areas of Spirituality
We explore these spiritual themes by using the skill of reflection from the earliest starting point and have opportunities to use this skill each day. ‘Windows, mirrors and doors’ is the terminology our school uses with the pupils to support deeper reflections.
